PT Indonesia Bentonite (Indobent)

PT Indonesia Bentonite (Indobent) is a pioneer among bentonite producers in Indonesia, established on August 9, 1985.

Indobent factory has a production capacity of 12,000 tons per year and has achieved a peak output of 800 tons per month. The bentonite raw materials come from mining operations at Indobent's Mining License Area (49,375 ha), located in close proximity to the factory.

Indobent continues to evolve as a prominent producer and supplier of bentonite in Indonesia. It collaborates to fulfill the demands for bentonite across various industrial sectors, including oil and gas, automotive, construction, fertilizers, cosmetics, and more.

BENTONITE

Bentonite is a clay mineral primarily composed of 85% Montmorillonite (MMT), a phyllosilicate mineral with the chemical formula (Al2O3·4SiO2·xH2O).

Derived from volcanic ash deposits, it has a layered structure and a high cation exchange capacity, enabling its interlayer spaces to accommodate significant quantities of cations.

Bentonite also possesses unique properties such as swelling, water absorption, and a large surface area, making it an effective natural colloid and hydrated aluminum silicate.
